Het Hru and the Kemetic Principle of Mer (Love)
Love.
So many of us try so hard to find it. Once we get Love, it becomes work
to maintain it, as we are challenged in our relationships, whether through
family, romance, and/or friendship.
In ancient Kemet, the principle of Higher Love was expressed through
the Guardian Het Hru. Her attributes are beauty, art, deep compassion,
joy, dance, good times, high spiritual communion. Her name (ren), HET is
house. HRU is day, or awake. Higher Love. Another name for Het Hru is
Utit, (pronounced Woo-djit). The word for brain is utt (woo-djit) . The
name for the pineal gland is Udjat (Woo-djat) - also called the Eye of Hru.
This is the pscychic/receptive center housed within the brain. Het Hru
means House of Spiritual Awakening. In other words, one cannot truly
know the Love of NTR (God) until experiencing true renewal of the mind,
and become spiritually balanced in body, mind, heart, and soul. True
Ascension begins here.

The Kemetic word for Love is "mer." Mer also means Water. Love should
flow throughout your entire being, and pour from your heart, soul, and
mind. Het Hru is also associated with wealth. The true energy of
abundance building is connected to Love energy. Your attitude toward
money and how you deal with it is a reflection of your own esteem, and
what is in your heart. If your greed or cruelty prevents you from helping
others, or fear of lack, or your inability to see your fellow man's needs, then
your heart is frozen. While you may be surrounded by luxury, who really
loves you at the end of it all? If you have spent little on yourself, fearful that
you'll never have enough to sustain yourself, that's a whole other set of
heart/mind limitations.
And what about giving too much? I was guilty of that. Most times, I didn't
realize that there was imbalance until later, when there was little or no
reciprocation, and little appreciation. When giving from your heart to
people who do not value what is given, it drains the giver. Maat finally
forced me to remove my rose colored specs.
Maat is the principle of balance, harmony, justice, order, and reciprocity.
Ma'a is "to see." Anu means offerings, revenue, gifts - it is about value.
Praying "Maat Anu" immediately forced my eyes wide open. I saw who was
taking me for granted, who devalued what I gave, and overall, who needed to
go. I embraced my worth in a new way. My income has been on the upswing.
My health has been excellent. And I've had time to refocus on my career. So
many things left unfinished because my time was misspent freely helping
others who did not truly reciprocate or appreciate, yet would continuously
take.
Maat brings the balance. She is cool, rational, matter-of-fact. And she is the
middle ground between Het Hru and her fiery aspect, Sekhmet. However,
the way to achieve the process to Higher Love is through the 42 Principles
of Maat. Through daily recitation of these principles, which teach about how
to relate and behave in society, in relationships, toward your Shepsu
(Ancestors), and your God (NTR), and teach appropriate boundaries, your
heart opens. You begin to see, feel, and understand how your actions have
an impact on everyone and everything. You care about how you conduct
yourself in the world. You Love yourself, your family, friends, your local and
global community. You realize, as I always say, "It's not just about you."
These principles balance the aritu (chakras, or seven energy centers in the
body). It is said Heavenly Love of Het Hru. She opens the door of Heaven.
The 42 Principles, with six principles each addressing the need of every
energy center, are Het Hru's staircase.
I share the concept of spreading Love in my work as a Bridge Builder to
Peace. Ultimately, Love begins with you. Open your heart, soul, and mind to
receive and give it. When you do, you will experience Het Hru's joy, and
realize how valuable your life really is.
Love also gives you courage. My grandmother used to say, "We can't live in
this world alone." Take a chance. Reach out to someone you originally
deemed as unlovable. Perhaps it's your neighbor. Perhaps it's yourself. See
what miracles happen. Discover the power of Love. YOU Have the Power.

Dendera. She is called,
"Golden One."
Het Hru's mirror sees into the soul
(Ba), and reflects maat, or the
TRUTH of what is within the soul.
The purpose of her mirror is to help
you understand that you are a
reflection of Divine Creation. The
mirrored back to you.
